Evaluation
When making my product I had to research other media texts and find out what generic media conventions feature in film trailers, film posters and magazine covers.
I of course had to look at Romantic Comedies, and decide what I thought were they key aspects featured in all of them.
I have analysed these 8 key shots from my film;

To make sure that all three of the products were suitable for the target audience I had to ensure that I used all the media technologies that I could. For research I used a lot of magazines, books and primary research to decide what I was going to make. I looked through many magazines at film poster and their front covers to ensure I knew which genre I wanted to do.
I also did small questionnaires with people to find out which genres they preferred. I also had to do a lot of online research to see what sort of films people favour, and after doing this and my own personal preferences I decided that I wanted to make a romantic comedy.
I watched and have watched a lot of romantic comedies before so I did already have a lot of knowledge into the stereotypes and the generic storylines of the genre. I decided to make a wedding film because I knew I had access to resources.
In the early stages I used things such as Wordle to generate pictures using words associated with weddings, I feel this helped me because I was then able to incorporate these words with my film. This helped me to make my storyline, because I knew what I had to include.
In the construction stages I used PowerPoint to make my storyboard which I found very helpful because I could flick through the slides and see how every shot was coming to life. I also found this helpful as I could find pictures off the internet to include in it, rather than depending on my drawing skills.

I used BlogSpot to track everything that I was doing, to write to do lists, to put all my research in one place, and to get feedback on everything designed.

When I began to film I used a video camera, and a digital camera to get shots for the film, magazine and poster. I had to borrow the camera from school, which was a bit of a problem because the quality of some of the cameras is different and the colours of the shots can be different.
After I had filmed I put everything from the film onto an Apple iMac computer, using a firewire. I then used software called iMovie to edit all the scenes.
I think that iMovie is a very good piece of software, it allows you to import picture, which I had to do for my titles, it also allows you to add music.

I also used Photoshop elements to make all the titles, the titles had swirly patterns on, which I hand-drew and then imported into Photoshop using a scanner I felt that this worked well because I could design whatever I wanted to and I still knew I could computerise it using a photo editing suite such as Photoshop. I also used Photoshop for the magazine and poster, because I am familiar with Photoshop I felt that this helped me an awful lot because I was able to use the wizards.
I did look on the website jamendo, but when i found that some of the music was actually copywrite i had to ask a Djing friend to mix me a track for my trailer.
If I had the resources I would have used a more high definition digital camera, because I feel that some of the photos are not as clear as they could have been, which was a shame after all the effort that was put into taking them. I would also have used the same camera throughout the project to ensure that all the colours were the same. I think I would also have used an external hard-drive to save my work to,, because the iMacs are quiet blocked up with other peoples work and it took a lot of time to do some of the smallest edits when I had put all the film clips on.
